PULLLENVALE RESIDENCE
Pullenvale, Queensland
Current Status: Completed 2000
Details
A multi-generational single storey house was requested by the clients for their sloping north-facing site.
In response to the topography the floor plan was wrapped around a ridge and in part stepped up the site to help minimise excavation.
Features included three-meter high ceilings, large picture windows, walls and niches for the display of paintings and sculptures, double-sided fireplace, generous spaces for ease of accessibility and fully ducted air conditioning.
Externally the surrounding site was shaped to help control stormwater overland flow while planting was used to help stabilise the earth's banks.
