Located on one of Hawthorne's most prestigious streets, Mark Williams Architects were employed to provide full architectural and interior design services for this modern two-story house on the Brisbane River.

Designed considering the 'Livable Housing Guidelines', this residence was built to meet the changing needs of the occupants throughout their lifetime. The main objective was to design a low maintenance house and landscaping while providing privacy, emphasising horizontal lines, and maximising natural light and cross ventilation. 

​

The challenge for planning was that the design needed to complement the traditional character of the streetscape for development approval. With no detail spared, this residence was crafted with natural, earthy tones and well-considered open living spaces to complement and connect with the relaxed riverside ambience and surrounds.
