Located at Serenity Shores at the Gold Coast our clients requested full architectural services for this new modern two-story house.

 

Due to the tight construction budget, a simple building form was proposed. Recessed midsections to the east and west elevations were introduced for articulation. Roof overhangs were used to help with controlling solar access and providing wet weather protection.

 

Where possible simple and readily available building materials were used.

 

The challenge for the planning was how to take advantage of the southern view over Lake Serenity while responding to the north and passive design principals. This was achieved in part with positioning living spaces to the eastern side of the house and non-habitable rooms to the western side.
